The 31st Edition of Arabian Travel Market received more than 33,000 visitors from over 160 countries to Dubai World Trade Center – an 11% rise over last year.

This year, organizers held the event under the theme: ‘Empowering Innovation: Transforming Travel Through Entrepreneurship’ from May 6-9, 2024.

Over 2,600 exhibiting companies took part featuring global industry professionals from the travel, tourism, and hospitality fields.

“This is our second time participating in Arabian Travel Market. “It’s a good experience because we stay updated with the latest technology the industry needs,” Alfred Chan, Director of Sales – Cluster Leisure Sales at Dorsett Kuala Lumpur, said in an interview.

2024 represented a 15% year-on-year increase compared to ATM’s 30th edition – setting a new record for the global travel event, according to a press release. ATM yearly aims to explore the drivers behind industry growth and identify future opportunities within the global tourism sector.

Danielle Curtis, Exhibition Director ME at Arabian Travel Market, said in a statement: “We are delighted that many industry professionals from around the world join us in Dubai and explore how innovation and entrepreneurship are shaping a more efficient, profitable, and sustainable tourism sector.”

Industry professionals at ATM also emphasised the importance of sustainability.

“Part of sustainability is about educating ourselves and consumers. It is about making it easy for them to participate as well in sustainable activities” – COO of Cheval Collection John Philipson said in an interview.

Philipson ensures focus on LED lighting and reducing plastic use. He also monitors usage of water and amount of waste dangerously going into landfills.

“20% of our electricity at Safari Park comes from solar panels and 50% of our vehicles are environmentally friendly,” Director of Public Parks and Beaches – Dubai Safari Park – Ahmed AlZarouni also mentioned during an interview. “We always have recycling spots for our visitors”.
